My younger daughter and I were living in Santa Cruz, CA and my older daughter was attending UC Santa Barbara. On Feb. 15, 2003 my older daughter came up and the three of us and a number of their friends in two cars, went up to San Francisco and participated in the march, which went from the Ferry building where Market Street meets the Bay, to the Civic Center a couple of miles up Market Street. Market Street was packed, wall-to-wall with people of all ages from the Ferry building all the way to I think 10th Street where the route turned North to head over to the Civic Center. It was a fabulous experience, a huge crowd of people who had Love and Hope in their hearts. I’ve never felt so safe in a such a large crowd (except in January and March of 2003, when my younger daughter and a few of her friends and I marched in the other two San Francisco “pre-emptive anti-Iraq War protests” in San Francisco that year).
