My wife and I and a friend, just ordinary people, were dismayed at the accelerated drum beat to war. Blix and Al Baredi were asking for another few months to confirm Sadam didn’t have WMD’s. We had to do something to show our support for the weapons inspectors, and to try and put a hold on the rush to war.
We were staggered by the volume of people, 1,000,000+, and proud of the variety of marchers, left, right, black, white, gay, christian, muslim, atheist, communists, I could go on. Whilst marching along the Embankment, every bridge crossing from the south were full as the eye can see.
This was a cross section of society of which I have never seen!
